05/31/2003: "How's Your Sister?"
How's your Sister? This consistently productive icebreaker and conversational gambit, credited to the late Steve Allen, will fall flat or lead to disappointing results in any of the following circumstances:
1. When women are present or within hearing. 2. When the intended listener is significantly larger or faster than you are. 3. When the intended listener is your boss, your client, or anyone with whom you have a financially dependent relationship.
