12/10/2003: "Sextasy"
Bob Condor, wringing his hands for the Chicago Tribune, writes, "The new face of Viagra abuse is younger than you think." I hadn't really thought about it, but go on. And he does, quoting Dr. Robert Garafolo, director of youth services at the Howard Brown Health Center in Chicago, 'Viagra, the older man's drug, has earned a place among hard-partying youth. It has gone recreational practically without anyone noticing.'"
Is that scary? I guess so, because now Bob's article goes for the big guns;
"Here's the problem: Teenage boys and 20-something guys are taking Viagra with "club drugs" such as Ecstasy. Although Ecstasy can boost energy and provide the desired high, it lessens a male's ability to have an erection. Alcohol does the same thing to a man's sexual abilities" said Dr. Abraham Morgentaler, a Harvard Medical School physician and researcher in sexual dysfunction. "Adding the Viagra for a "sextasy" drug cocktail restores virility because the prescription drug's main biological action is to increase the nitric oxide production needed to encourage blood flow to the penis."
Jesus, I'm thinking as I read this, is he going to say that the "cocktail" will make your heart stop or your dick blow up? Click more.. below.
Dr. Morgentaler goes on; "The result is that a lot of young guys--and more than a few in their 30s, 40s and beyond--are suddenly more able to have sex when it is least advisable." Here it comes, I'm thinking, danger Will Robinson, "Viagra works for four to six hours, which only extends the time to make [an] unwise late-night decision, such as not using a condom."
What, that's it? No heart attack or explosion, just the extended possibity of making an unwise decision? Is getting in trouble by thinking with your dick THE NEW threat to youth? Gentlemen, please tell us the dangers; give it to us straight, we can take it.
Dr. Morgentaler now gives it his best and only shot; "One problem with Viagra use is that some men--usually older males-- (who else?) might unwittingly mix nitroglycerin heart medicine and the sexual function drug. This combination can create potential blood pressure irregularities..."
Sorry doctor, (obnoxious buzzer) you lose; that's not a threat to the average youthful party animal. I think you're just slinging bullshit to get your name in the newspaper. Threats to youth, especially the ones that sneak up on us, are always great press. Chicago Tribune and good doctors, thank you for your input.
How it really shakes out is, if you're taking any illegal drugs and you get caught, they will put you someplace with a guy named Bubba and lock the door. Bubba will then fuck you in the ass. He will not use a condom, not because he has "extended time to make an unwise decision," but because he doesn't have a condom. We won't give him one; we are a civilized society, after all. So, sports fans, illegal drugs are a REALLY unwise decision. Viagra and booze, if you're of age, on the other hand, are legal drugs, and it appears they won't hurt you while they do indeed enhance one another's effects. Why does that piss off/frighten some people? I don't know.
Anyway, my advise is to go for it, but don't think with your dick; ask her, she doesn't have one.

It's not a problem for the teenage boys. They're having a great time!
