02/07/2004: "Grammy Awards: The Big Night?"

The 46th Grammy Awards, live from Los Angeles at 7 p.m. tomorrow. Well, not quite live; following Janet Jackson's Super Bowl "extra," CBS said yesterday it would institute a video delay system (longer than the normal bleep a dirty word delay) to avoid any similar ocurrence at Sunday's Grammy Awards. What, no chance to one up Janet with a pair? Click more.. below.

The entertainment, which is still changing, includes Timberlake; Christina Aguilera; Sting; Sean Paul; Martina McBride; Foo Fighters; the Black Eyed Peas; the White Stripes; OutKast; George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic; Earth, Wind & Fire; and Robert Randolph & the Family Band. That doesn't set me on fire, but maybe it will change again. Norah Jones, John Mayer, Williams, Sean Astin and Amber Tamblyn will be presenters. Host? I haven't heard.

Here is a quick summary of nominations (Click here for complete list. New window): Beyonce, Jay-Z, OutKast and the Neptunes' Pharrell Williams each are nominated for six awards. Missy Elliott, 50 Cent, Eminem, the Neptunes' Chad Hugo, Justin Timberlake, Ricky Skaggs, Evanescence, Luther Vandross and the late Warren Zevon have five nominations apiece.
