When you buy a new mattress, the manufacturer encourages you to turn and rotate it frequently. This is particularly important when the mattress is new and still "settling." The point, of course, is to distribute the wear evenly. Sounds easy, right? Any idiot can turn a mattress over. Well, a lot of things that are easy for idiots to do are not all that easy for the rest of us. You see, idiots have the advantage of not being very deep thinkers. Click more.. below.

Stephen II was an unconsecrated pope from March 23 to March 25, 752. He was a priest when he was elected on March 23, 752, to succeed Pope St. Zacharias, but he died of apoplexy two days later without having been consecrated. Because consecration is the act considered necessary to mark the official beginning of a pontificate, Stephen is listed neither in the catalog of the popes nor in the Liber Pontificalis ("Book of the Popes"). His successor, who also took the name Stephen, is called both Stephen II and Stephen III. Hence, the succession of Stephens is somewhat irregular.

In today's politically correct media world, the old Warner Brothers Bugs and Daffy cartoons are a breath of fresh air. The anything but PC Bugs sets up Daffy in "This Week's Fantasy" for the bloodthirsty Elmer Fudd. Link opens in a new window. Elmer has no problem shooting a duck who can talk to him. He just has never before thought of a duck as having a mother.

If the coffee you make at home doesn't measure up to the coffee you get at your favorite coffee shop, it's probably not your equipment or your coffee beans. People who care about coffee usually have those things covered going in. The disappointment comes in when you've done the research, spent the money, and you still can't get the results that you want. Homemade noodles are fun to make and lead to the kind of hungry people food that has fueled farmhands, lumberjacks, ironworkers, suffragettes, and linemen in snowstorms since our forefathers kicked the last "Red" Indian into the casino business. They aren't pretty and they make a huge mess, but if you're hungry, the kind of hungry you get from skiing, skating, snow shoeing (or shoveling), jogging, hiking, biking or swimming, then a plate or bowl full of homemade noodles with chicken or beef is what you want and what you need. Let's see, it's different every year, so what is it... Isn't it the second Sunday after the beginning of something else that changes every year? No, the possibility of a fixed date for Easter has been discussed, and the second Sunday in April has been proposed, but for now you still need a couple of monks with a few ancient texts if you plan on going it without a Sports Illustrated calendar. On March 2, 2004, "English Bob" passed away peacefully at 4:45 PM CST. Those who loved him will be comforted to know that he died in his room at home, shortly after eating a late lunch and apparently while preparing to have a nap. Bob's beloved C-SPAN "talking heads" had been flicked off, and his posture, when discovered some ten minutes later by his wife, indicated a sudden and painless stopping of the heart. Until the last four days of his life, when he took a bruising 3 AM fall, Bob was "comfortable at rest," meaning he was pretty much at ease while sitting and reading or watching TV. Not too bad, if you know anything about the advanced stages of pulmonary fibrosis. After Bob's fall, and presumably while his body tried to recover, he began for the first time to show some real stress breathing while at rest. Click more.. below.
